Necklace in New Green
Happy St. Patrick's Day
I love this time of year in Central Florida. The new green of live oaks is peaking out in their branches and the azaleas are in full fushia glory. I am using a gorgeous range of greens and yellow greens with ivory and metallic embellishments in my newest glass pieces. On this St. Patrick's Day I'm wishing you a pot of gold at the end of your rainbow!
The necklace above features a glass ring and my hand-turned glass beads, The focal bead is hollow creating a magical range of light lime greens. Accented with a strand of emeral green semi-precioius stones it's the perfect necklace to accompany your tamashantar.

Time to Play: Resin Pendants from my vintage storybooks...
Now that I have more time to work in my studio I have been digging out supplies and mustering up the nerve to try some new techniques. I made these pendants using resin. The first one has a background I drew and features a vintage cameo and pieces of a rhinestone pin. The rest are images cut out of one of my childhood french storybooks, decidedly vintage! Since the story is about a mermaid I added some pearls. The last one, a crab is holding the key to the castle while the mermaid friends are mezmerized by shiny things!
Cinnamon Red Hots Bracelet
If you love red, this ought to suite your fancy. Hot translucent reds decorated with swirls of bluish silver glass. $175
Wonderful Workshop Wind Up!
What a great time at my inaugural workshop! Ten of us worked together to make silver coins, tried our hand at making a glass bead, then feasted on a lovely catered lunch while our Precious Metal Clay fired. After lunch we assembled our jewelry, then toasted to our creations. I can't wait until the next workshop (April 9th, Tree of Life Pendant and Earrings!)
First Blush

These colors are wonderfully neutral and look good on everyone. The breezy movement, subtle palette, and complexity of form and texture make it both bold and understated. I love the blushy pinks and mirrory metallics complemented by the warm satin glow of pearls. It looks like the little glass cameo is blushing too. The necklace measures approximately 19 inches and features removable charms and detattachable pearl strand. (Sterling and glass with freshwater pearls.) $375
The Triplets of Belleville!

I found these stunning vintage German glass cameos and the ladies seem pleased as punch to be incorporated into my new spring designs. I am loving them and the silver glass that is yielding an old world carnival glass effect to my pieces. That pop of magenta with the muted ambers and golds are just right for this season's palette. Perfect with pearls don't you think? Earrings $60, Pendant on Freshwater pearl and sterling strand $125.

NEW! Adding items to my site!
I am adding some new items to my site as I can get them photographed and input so check from time to time on what I have been cooking up for spring: Natural pinks, gorgeous new silver glass beads that sparkle with mirror effects, golden irridescence, and more more more! I hope to blog the new entries as I put them up. Here's the first one. It's a stunning copper and brass necklace featuring vintage rhinestone center with pearls strung on sterling wire. I call it Bird's Whisper.

John Wayne's Daughter!
A friend of ours suggested we capitalize on John's name for a jewelry line. (I guess I'm not as famous as John Wayne.) Our 17-year-old daughter sat at my bench and designed this little number. I love it and am implementing some of her design ideas into my pieces. She made her first batch of glass beads yesterday and she's a natural.
Precious Metal Clay Workshop: Coin Bracelet March 26th
Upcoming Workshop
I will be hosting a silver clay coin bracelet workshop at my home on Saturday March 26th from 10am-2pm. Each participant will make silver coins out of precious metal clay (as featured in the pendants on the necklace to the right), which when fired is more pure than sterling. Once your coins are fired I will teach you how to them to a sterling silver chain. Plan to make it your own so bring your ideas and a happy heart! You will be able to purchase a tool kit if you desire, though it is not required. Each participant will receive sterling chain and findings, as well as ample silver clay to make 5 or 6 charms. If you would like to make your own glass beads to incorporate I will work with each participant one on one to do that as well.
Cost is $175 and includes all of your supplies (sterling is so expensive right now.) I'll provide a little lunch for us because that just sounds too fun not to do. You will leave with a bracelet! Sign up Friday or Saturday at the Valentine's show or send a check made out to "Dale Wayne" with "Coin Bracelet Workshop" in the note section along with a note with your name, phone number, and email.

I Only Have Eyes
For You...
John wrote those words on a piece of birch bark to win my heart when we were in college. It's still our song. Friday night he'll be shaking up his signature pomegranate martinis and my friend Leslie Christin,( Studio Cara ) will be doing free smokey eye make-up applications and offering a special deal on the latest in false eyelashes!
Cupid Draw out Your Bow
I love celebrations. Groundhogs day, one of my favorites is right around the corner. I love it almost as much as the oft forgotten Arbor Day (April 29th, tree of life designs are percolating in my brain.) Above is what I've been cooking up for Valentine's Day. I love the little copper and silver cupid coins I made. They have an old world beat up look and are tiny, smaller than a dime. They add just the right touch, cool not cutesy. Hope you like them too and beware of flying arrows!

Change of venue...
The best laid plans of the mouse and me always comes to no good end OF OPPORTUNITIES. I haven't been feeling up to snuff so I am home taking antibiotics and breathing treatments for my annual bout with ears, nose, and throat, and I won't have my jewelry at the school after all. I apologize for the inconvenience, but if you still need gifts and invite you to stop by my boutique space starting Friday. I plan to be home most of the weekend and am in town until after Christmas so feel free to stop by if you are in the area or call to set up a time to shop. I'll give you 25% off of your ENTIRE order for your efforts. Hope to see you soon, but if I don't I wish you blessings upon blessings!

Valentine's Day Date Night
I am planning a Valentine evening party on Feb.14th and John promises to make his now famous Pomegranate Martinis. I have a cupcake recipe book from a famous New York bakery I am hoping to try out. I think Red Velvet takes the cake! I thought it would be fun to make it a date night, have a cocktail, enjoy some treats, and you and your sweetheart can choose your gift together. There might even be some sweetheart deals!
Let me call your sweetheart...
I am creating a section in my mailing list for your special someone. Contact me with their email address and I will sign them up for my mailing list. Let me know your birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion dates along with your wish list. I would love to send a little bird to whisper your request in someone's ear.

One patina, two patina, three patina, four...
Today I am playing with different chemical and heat treatments on my copper and brass chain and embellishments. There is a brown, a grey, verde green, and the flame on copper brings out a crazy rainbow/petroleum affect.
I like them all and combining them will make for some interesting jewelry. No worries about the pieces tarnishing later. I took care of that ahead of time.
It's begIndie-ing to feel a lot like Christmas!
Thank you Indie Spotting and An Indie Christmas for featuring my Christmas Tree recycled bottle ornament project. I hope everyone that tries it has as much fun with it as we have.

Couldn't resist the impulse purchase... custom giftwrap!
I played with my bead drawings on picnik and came up with a fun collage. At giftskins.com you can have your image made into giftwrap! Above is what I chose. Pretty fun, huh?
Proud Parents: Our recycled tree sells immediately!
We couldn't be more proud! Our Red Hot and Recycled Tree was the 2nd tree to sell in the presale event today. It fetched full price, a handsome $1800 to benefit the art museum and sold to the dismay of other admirers. Here we are having almost lost our minds on delivery day...
